A native of New York City, Dr. Tehrany graduated from Polytechnic Preparatory Country Day School in Brooklyn where he has served on the Board of Governors. He completed his undergraduate training through the Brooklyn College 7-year BA/MD program and received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine.

He completed his residency training in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. During that period, he worked with the team physicians for the New York Jets, New York Rangers, and New York Islanders. He then went on to complete a one-year fellowship in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder with one of the field’s noted pioneers, Dr. Stephen Burkhart, through Baylor College of Medicine in Texas. Currently, Dr. Tehrany serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan.
