NY Daily News: Dr. Armin Tehrany talks about Matt Harvey’s Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
Matt Harvey’s Thoracic Outlet Syndrome: Due to painful shoulder discomfort, Matt Harvey made an appointment with a surgeon specializing in Thoracic Outlet Syndrome; his shoulder condition might require a season-ending surgery.
The New York Daily News did piece titled “Knight Falls Again – Shoulder woe sends Harvey to DL, doctor”, discussing Matt Harvey’s shoulder injury and went on to highlight that the Mets pitcher could be facing season-ending surgery.
Dr. Armin Tehrany was invited to share his professional opinion based on his decade’s long experience and orthopedic knowledge as a shoulder specialist.
Speaking on the topic of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, a rare condition of the nerves and blood vessels which can cause shoulder pain, Dr. Tehrany stated that surgeons only consider TOS (Thoracic Outlet Syndrome) after ruling out injuries to the rotator cuff and the labrum. Concerning Matt Harvey’s injury, Dr. Tehrany confirmed that shoulder surgery at this point could end Matt’s game for the season.
