At Manhattan Orthopedic Care, through our pre-medical internship program, we open our doors for the young pre-medical students to enable them to experience the real life as doctors. Shadowing a doctor is essential for pre-med students because it helps them to develop the sense of the work physicians do, therefore, it is the experience that helps them determine if they truly want and can commit to a career as physicians. Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming Elizabeth Bernstein to our facility. Her genuine interest in working with Dr. Armin Tehrany, and learning about orthopedics as much as she possibly could, inspired Dr. Tehrany and the whole team at Manhattan Orthopedic Care to help Elizabeth have the unique experience while shadowing Dr. Tehrany. During her two-weeks stay at Manhattan Orthopedic Care, Elizabeth demonstrated a strong determination to take advantage of working along with one of the best knee and shoulder doctors in New York. Moreover, she was professional, punctual, observant, respectful, and eager to learn, which only proved her enthusiasm to pursue her career in medicine. Thrilled to have worked with Dr. Tehrany, Elizabeth shared the uniquely positive experience on Google, saying the nicest, heartfelt words that made us exuberant.
“I have had the amazing opportunity to shadow Dr. Tehrany for the past two weeks through a pre-medical internship program with his alma mater. I have learned so much from him about all aspects of medicine, but mainly, I have seen the thorough compassion and care he has for each and every one of his patients. Dr. Tehrany goes above and beyond medical care, but takes time to explain, comfort, and show a genuine interest in each patient. After my time with him, I can understand why everyone has so much respect and trust for Dr. Tehrany. Beyond being a fantastic doctor, he has been an amazing mentor, always willing to take time out of his busy day to explain things, or even just to make sure I didn’t have any questions. Without hesitation, I would recommend Dr. Tehrany as not only a devoted physician, but an outstanding person as well.” – Elizabeth Bernstein
We strongly believe that Elizabeth will be a phenomenal physician, regardless of the medicine field she chooses to specialize in. Also, we are thankful for the sweetest thank you note we ever received, literally. 🙂 pre-medical internship program
