Follow-up Telemedicine Appointment after shoulder reconstruction

Posted on

As of today, Dr. Armin Tehrany and his team are seeing patients in the office during limited hours. However, Manhattan Orthopedic Care will also continue to offer Telemedicine appointments to accommodate a diverse set of patients. For patients like Christian Ellam, the treatment will include a combination of both physical and Telemedicine appointments. Christian suffered a labrum tear that caused troubling pain. Since his condition was severe, Dr. Tehrany recommended proceeding with a labrum tear repair.
Christian had shoulder reconstruction surgery in the ambulatory center. After 12 days, Dr. Tehrany scheduled Christian’s follow-up appointment via Telemedicine video call. As a firm believer in transparency, Dr. Tehrany decided to show the community how the team quickly adapted to the changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. He asked for Christian’s permission to record the appointment as he believes that it will help people understand the current workflow. At the begging of the appointment, Dr. Tehrany outlined that documenting these appointments can be immensely helpful in providing more in-depth insight into how Dr. Tehrany treats patients during these challenging times.
“It would be great to be able to teach the public about how your experience was at the surgery center with the crisis and the precautions we took,” Dr. Tehrany explains candidly.
Before choosing Dr. Tehrany as his doctor, Christian felt anxious because he is from the UK, and he was unsure of whom to trust with his health.. Upon meeting Dr. Tehrany, he felt relieved. His worries subsided as he witnessed the protocols to protect patients and staff at Manhattan Orthopedic Care.
“You made me feel so comfortable with the situation we’re in,” Christian admitted sincerely to Dr. Tehrany.
With the virtual appointments, we managed to minimize the risk of infections. We reserved the in-office visits for crucial steps of the patient care process.
“We want to make it clear to people that even during this difficult time, we have the steps that we can take to maintain safety and make sure you get a good result,” Dr. Tehrany explained.
We hope this video helps everyone get a better understanding of the current processes at Manhattan Orthopedic Care. While those processes change as we deem necessary, they always evolve with our patients’ well-being as a top priority.
